Johannes Vetter Wins Javelin at European Throwing Cup in Meet RecordBy Adam Kopet Johannes Vetter of Germany took down the year-old meet record in the javelin this weekend at the European Throwing Cup in Leiria, Portugal, according to an IAAF recap by Bob Ramsak. Vetter's winning mark of 304-1 (92.70m) broke the meet record by more than 20 feet. He extended his world leading mark, set last month in South Africa, by nearly five feet. The 2017 World javelin champion took home the win over teammate Berhard Seiftert, who finished with a best mark of 264-6 (80.62m). Vetter's throw is the 12th best of all time and and the second best in the month of March. More news |
